Prayer for the Diocese
O God, who by your grace you have called us in this Diocese of Athabasca to a fellowship of faith. Bless our Bishop, Right Reverend David Greenwood, the clergy and all people of our diocese. Grant that your Word may be truly preached and truly heard, your Sacraments faithfully administered and faithfully received. By the Holy Spirit, fashion our lives according to the example of Jesus, and we may show the power of your love to all we live with in our communities; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Camp 2025 Dear God, thank you for your faithfulness and provision in our lives. Thank you for each person that has volunteered to share and use the unique talents and perspectives they have been gifted with. We thank you for the opportunity these people have to gather together and work towards the common goal of preparing a camp for the diocese. |

ACW Conference
The ACW Conference 2025 The theme of our conference this year is “He Lifts Us Up”. He being God, of course. God lifts us up—He lifts us out of our self-focused concerns, our worldly experiences and woes, and gives us a sense of His grandeur, His power, and His love.
We believe that the women of the diocese need a little uplifting. Some time to focus on God, on Scripture…to worship together and BE together. Isn’t it true that we all need more of Him—His strength, His grace, His power and His love?
It may only be January and many of us are just trying to make it through the winter; but this spring we have the opportunity to gather together, to take a little time out from our usual schedules, and be reminded of our God who loves us and lifts us up!! Make sure to register for the conference and be a part of it!! We can’t wait to see you there!

I Saw Christ Today
I saw Christ today - He is a short fat fellow with a funny little cap pushed back to cover his bald spot. He laughs a lot and jiggles when he walks. I saw Christ in the schoolyard racing and laughing with others; trembling at the shadow of the bully’s scowl and licking the sauce off the sausage roll. A turmoil of innocence, uncertainty, and the fear of failure. I saw Christ yesterday too - handcuffed in a country torn apart by war. He was wincing in the shock of agony as the predator’s angry round crashed through the delicate convolutions of His brain. I also saw Christ in church. She was wearily clasping the hand of Her struggling daughter as Her infant son dribbled down Her neck. Grinding Her nerves as She battled for peace. I remember seeing Christ when He was ninety-three. He dozed peacefully in the sun all day and His trembling hand clattered His cup against His glasses when He drank. And when I’d seen Christ in so many places, lovely faces, I drove home, parked the car, climbed the stairs and, as I passed the mirror in the hall, I glanced up in surprise….there He was again! |
