Parishes of the dioceses of Athabasca and Edmonton are invited to observe September 21 as Alongside Hope Sunday. As they did last year, diocesan reps are preparing resources, including a sample Order of Service for parishes to use, if they so choose. Donation envelopes and additional resources will be mailed to parishes from the Synod Office. Watch this space for updates!

Jamie McIlvenna will be ordaned as a deacon on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at All Saints', Fort McMurray.  The Eucharist service begins at 10:30 am.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

We have 20 white gowns, 3 maroon, 3 black and 10 blue gowns and wondering if any of the other church’s in our diocese would like any of them. Do you know where the bell at Camp Artaban came from?  We have asked several people and no one seems to know where the bell came from.  If you have any information on where the bell came from, when it arrived, where it was made, how it got to the camp, or anything else about the bell please contact the synod office at dioath@telusplanet.net.

Taste and See...

Anglican Renewal Ministries is dedicated to bringing the life and power of the Holy Spirit to all Christians.  This year, 2025, ARM gives thanks to God for having served the Anglican Church of Canada for 40 years!  In addition to workshops on the person and gifts of the Holy Spirit, we also offer a quarterly magazine called “Taste and See…" with articles to uplift and encourage you in your walk with Christ.   We hope this magazine will be a source of encouragement to all.  Sample articles and a free copy of the magazine are available on our website.

I'm so excited to share a beautiful new animated film with you called Light of the World, releasing in theatres across Canada on September 5th. It tells the story of Jesus in a way that is clear, engaging, and easy for kids to understand. 

I watched it recently with my family, and we all loved it. As a mom, I couldn't help but think about how powerful this film will be for young kids.

To accompany the film and help kids dive deeper into its themes and messages, The Salvation Poem Project has also created an excellent suite of resources, including a free 7 week curriculum and a new believer curriculum your family or  kid's ministry can use.

I really believe that Light of the World is more than a film, it's a valuable resource for families and ministries who want to introduce children to Jesus.
