Visit to Fort Chipewyan – August 24, 2025 On Sunday, August 24, 2025, the bishop flew to Fort Chipewyan. We extend our gratitude to Brian Vance for generously giving of his time and the use of his airplane. On the way north, they stopped in Fort McMurray to pick up The Rev. Leon Cadsap, Dean of the Athabasca Deanery. Upon arrival in Fort Chipewyan, the group was warmly welcomed by Freda Fraser, who drove them to St. Paul’s Church. The bishop led the Eucharist service, with 25 people in attendance. Afterward, Lucy Fraser kindly escorted the visitors back to the airport. On the return journey, they stopped once again in Fort McMurray to drop off Rev. Leon and refuel the plane before completing the flight to Slave Lake. From there, the bishop drove home to Peace River. We are deeply thankful to the people of Fort Chipewyan for their warm hospitality and faithful witness.
