The Bishop had the pleasure of visiting the parish of St. Peter’s Ecumenical in Slave Lake this past weekend. He arrived on Saturday and enjoyed a wonderful opportunity to spend time with members of the congregation. A heartfelt thank you goes to Brian, Robin-Lee, and Michael for graciously hosting an evening of conversation and desserts in their home. It was a delightful time of fellowship and a chance to grow more deeply connected with the people of St. Peter’s.
On Sunday morning, the Bishop led the Eucharist service, gathering with the parish in worship and thanksgiving.
St. Peter’s is a thriving and vibrant congregation, drawing together people from a variety of backgrounds—including Anglican, Lutheran, United, non-denominational traditions, and those seeking a spiritual home. The parish plays an important role in the wider community, operating the SPEC Thrift Shop from the repurposed former church building on the property. Many parishioners are actively involved in community events and local initiatives, embodying a spirit of service and hospitality.
The congregation is currently without clergy and continues to seek a new priest to support and lead this dynamic and welcoming faith community.
