On Good Friday, April 3, 2026, the Bishop was invited by the congregation of St. Bartholomew’s to take part in the annual Good Friday walk in Grimshaw.
Participants took turns carrying a wooden cross through the community, symbolizing the cross on which Jesus died. Along the route, prayers were offered at various community services and outreach locations, asking God’s blessing upon the town and its people.
This meaningful ecumenical event began on a foggy morning with almost no visibility at the town library and concluded at St. Bartholomew’s. Despite the weather, the spirit of prayer and unity remained strong throughout the walk.
Following the procession, participants gathered to warm themselves with hot cross buns and hot chocolate, sharing fellowship after this solemn and prayerful observance.
