Invitation to Prayer

At the invitation of Peter Noteboom, Bishop Annie and Bishop Ann Martha, there was a Zoom call concerning the situation in Greenland, organized by WCC with leaders from Greenland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Faroe Islands, and others.  

There is a request for prayers that countries would learn from the mistakes of the past, and in the words of Bp. Paneeraq Siegstad Munk of Greenland, would realize that "Greenland is home, not territory to be taken or people to be bought"; that we would not see another round of devastating imperialism and militarism towards Inuit, as with the first rush to claim the northwest passage and then with the American push to build radar defenses in the Cold War.
