It is with great sadness that we remember Jeannette Clarke who died in her sleep on August 4th this year, after a 5 year battle with many different forms of cancer.

Many people will remember her for her joy and enthusiasm in everything that she did.

Jeannette was often to be seen in the background helping out at Synods and many church functions at St. Mark's in High Prairie (Live Nativity, Bible Reading Marathon for 20 years) and St. Paul's in McLennan, where she not only played the pump organ for services but very often brought food for everyone after the service. In addition Jeannette played music at her home church, St. Paul's R.C. Church in High Prairie and at the church services at the J.B.Wood Nursing Home, each for a period of 20 years or so. A lifelong committed Christian who firmly believed that all Christians, whatever their denomination, are part of the family of God, which is why she served both the Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in any way that she could - it was God that she was serving.
One of her joys these past 25 years or so was helping to organise, host and read at the Bible Reading Marathon each year, first at St. Mark's where she would often read for 3 or more hours at a time in the middle of the night and more recently when the marathon went international, meeting and greeting readers and helping to keep track of what passage was being read. Over the years Jeannette spent thousands of hours helping to spread God's Word across the world.
Jeannette will be greatly missed by her husband of almost 45 years, Peter Clarke, as well as numerous members of her family across the globe. The sadness we feel in losing Jeannette is tempered in the knowledge that now she is with God in his heavenly kingdom and that brings joy and comfort.
No date is yet set for a funeral service.
