The Anglican Peace River Crossing Cemetery, located on the grounds of Bishop’s Lodge and Malvern House, has long been a place of sacred memory—a quiet space where the lives and stories of those who came before us are held with reverence. Some months ago, this holy ground was shaken by an act of vandalism in which several of the grave markers were destroyed.

Today, the cemetery once again reflects the dignity it deserves. The crosses have been fully restored, and careful historical research has been completed to ensure each grave is properly identified. New plaques will now accompany every cross, preserving the names and memories of those buried there so that future generations may honour them with respect.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dan Townson, who crafted each replacement cross with care and devotion. Gratitude is also offered to Bishop David Greenwood, Bruce Laker, and Benita Greenwood, whose work and dedication ensured the crosses were thoughtfully and securely installed.

This restoration is more than a repair—it is an act of healing. It represents the love of Christ that binds us together across time, reminding us that even in moments of hurt, compassion and commitment can bring renewal. May this renewed witness of care deepen our sense of the sacredness of life, the importance of remembrance, and the enduring hope of the resurrection.
