These are the words of a retired Canadian nurse, one of our generous supporters, who deeply understands the sacred, fragile moment of childbirth.

She read about Nurse Itelvina in Mozambique, delivering babies in total darkness. She remembered her own calling. And she chose to give.

Right now, many health centres in Mozambique and Madagascar have no reliable electricity. When emergencies strike at night - complicated deliveries, hemorrhages, newborns struggling to breathe - nurses must rely on flashlights or wait for sunrise.
