Thank you to all the parishes that have faithfully sent in their Parish Monthly Financial Updates.
For several years, the diocese has asked each parish to submit a monthly financial report to the Synod Office. These reports are reviewed by the Diocesan Executive Council (DEC) at each of their meetings. The information they provide enables the DEC to better understand the financial health of our parishes and to offer meaningful support where it is most needed.
Over the past year, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the DEC has been able to distribute funds to parishes through the Parish Financial Assistance Grant — a program designed to help parishes facing financial challenges. Parishes do not need to apply for this grant; instead, the DEC uses the information from the monthly financial updates to determine where assistance would be most beneficial.
By maintaining clear communication and transparency through these reports, the DEC is better equipped to serve and support the parishes of our diocese.
